Previous Communications - October 2025

Welcome back from fall break! I hope each of you had an opportunity to rest, recharge, and spend time with family and friends. As we return to the busy months ahead, I want to take a moment to share the tremendous progress we’ve made together as a union and as a community of leaders.

AASU has continued to make steady progress at the bargaining table, reaching several tentative agreements that bring us closer to finalizing our first collective bargaining agreement. This ongoing work reflects thoughtful collaboration, open dialogue, and the collective strength of our membership. I want to thank our bargaining team for their commitment and professionalism, and all of you for your continued support and engagement.

AASU remains committed to open, transparent, and consistent communication with our members. We believe that an informed and engaged membership is the foundation of a strong and effective union. To support this goal, in addition to our ongoing social events, AASU will begin hosting virtual meetings focused on union business and opportunities for members to share input on bargaining topics and priorities.

Our goal is simple: to keep every AASU member informed, connected, and involved in shaping the direction of our organization. Together, through regular communication and collaboration, we continue to strengthen our collective voice and ensure that the perspectives of Sweetwater’s administrators are heard and respected.

Finally, please note that information about open benefits enrollment will be sent out soon. We encourage all members to review these materials carefully and reach out if you have any questions or need additional support during the enrollment process. Also, please see attachments for the VEBA Health Fair and Flu Shot Clinics.

Thank you for your continued dedication to your schools, your colleagues, and our union. Your professionalism and unity are what make AASU strong.

In solidarity,
Dianne Huslin
President, AASU

NEED REPRESENTATION?   If you are called to a meeting regarding your job performance or potential disciplinary matters or are under investigation – do not attend alone. Contact your UASC/AASU representative, Donis Coronel, for support and assistance. Put her number in your phone!   619-813-8792 or donis@unitedadmin.us   FYI, UASC now contracts with six Labor Relations Representatives (LRR) who have extensive experience with an administrator’s unions – Donis may assign one of them to represent you. You are in good hands with any of the LRR’s.
