Collectively, Presidents from the Administrators Associations from San Diego (AASD), Chula Vista (AACV), and Sweetwater Union (AASU) agreed in the endorsement of Richard Barrera as California’s next State Superintendent of Public Instruction.

United Administrators Southern California Chairman Jeff Thomas stated, "His commitment to early childhood education, career readiness, and modern schools makes him the clear choice. Richard Barrera has the vision and practical experience to deliver equity and excellence for every student in California."

AASD President Irene Hightower stated, "With nearly two decades of service on the San Diego Unified School Board, Richard Barrera has a proven record of transforming a large, urban school district into a national model.”

AACV President Theresa Corona agreed and added, "His leadership resulted in higher graduation rates, narrowed achievement gaps, and financial stability.”

AASU President Dianne Husslin stated, "Barrera is a dedicated advocate for collaborative leadership, prioritizing students and the essential work of administrators and educators.”
