After more than three decades of dedicated service to the San Diego Unified School District, Mary retired in June 2025. Her journey began at the heart of the district—the school sites—before she transitioned to Human Resources in 2007. Over the next 18 years, she became a leader in HR, serving as a Confidential Administrative Assistant II to the Classification and Compensation team, and supported the Chief of Human Resources. Mary then transitioned to the role of Human Resources Officer and ultimately as Director, Human Resources. Today, Mary’s busy schedule is filled with what she loves most: traveling the open road with her husband and their three dogs and keeping up with the joyful energy of her six grandchildren.
