This week, AFSA celebrates its 50th anniversary, marking five decades of advocating for school leaders and strengthening public education.

Princess R. Moss of Virginia was elected president, Noel Candelaria of Texas was elected vice president, and Robert Varela Rodriguez of California was elected secretary-treasurer.
As we commemorate the 250th anniversary of the United States, we honor not only our history but also the enduring promise of American democracy.
"I just feel that being a school leader has got to be in your heart. It's your job to serve this community, parents and everyone else, and to take part in that same fight, all believing that students always come first," Victor says.
AFSA delegates participated in meetings, floor debates, and convention business that culminated in the unanimous adoption of resolutions outlining the AFL-CIO's priorities for the next five years.
