Jimmy Gittings

General Vice President

Jimmy Gittings is the president of Public School Administrators and Supervisors Association, AFSA Local 25, and began his career with the Baltimore City Public School System in 1971 as a second grade teacher at City Springs Elementary School.

He has worked in various capacities throughout the Baltimore City Public School System, including the Office of Secondary Education Basic Skills, the Office of Communications and the Superintendent’s Office.

Mr. Gittings retired from the Baltimore City Public School System as an education specialist in the Title I Office after 37 years of dedicated service. It is because of this dedication he maintains his union responsibilities as president of PSASA, representing more than 600 union principals and school administrators.
