Labor unions have changed America. Unions helped create the weekend, eliminated child labor, developed the 40-hour workweek and eight-hour workday, pushed for unemployment benefits, workers' compensation laws, employer-based health coverage and the Family and Medical Leave Act.
Unions advocated for workplace safety, and equity and equality for all people, no matter your race, gender, religion, sexual orientation or beliefs.
